Greetings! After a long fight and waiting, we finally got our visa approval! I was helped and guided by many angels when I was feeling lost and frustration in this visa journey.
Therefore, I want to pay the love forward. Please do so when you can as well! Because all of us have been there and understand with a kind help and support, it will make a difference in one’s visa journey.
Please be aware that everyone’s story and visa journey can be different and this is my version of my visa document preparation. Please feel free to take this document as a sharing example. However, you must do your own research first and clarify when you have any doubt or hesitation. The members in the group are your good friends and there are valuable resource in the group file. You just need to spend time, dig it and read them thoroughly.

- Barcode separator is suggested when organize the document. And I paid the service of document checks, therefore, the documents below were arranged slightly different than what I thought (the reason will be explained in the below columns).
- The document order below was suggested by VSF staff as
- Photocopy of the document is sufficient and either black & white or colorful document is acceptable ( I personally used colorful documents with pictures)
- In my country, we don’t have to demonstrate TB test certificate ( find it out if you need one on the UKVI official website)

- Although the appendix 2 is not on the official website anymore, VSF staff still suggests to include.
- If you do want to include this document, be aware, “august 2018” is the newest version.
- You might need a couple copies to practice and discuss with your partner before the real
- Read it thoroughly and ask group member, if you stuck at any
- The content of the appendix is similar to access UK online application, so make sure the answer is consistent.
2. Sponsor Evidence
|1. Sponsor’s current passport photocopy with bio data page and all entry and exit stamps||The photocopy of the passport is sufficient enough, don’t need to be verified via governmental sector.|
|2. Sponsor’s cover letter- dated 18 Apr 2019||I followed the below guidence to structure our support letter with 3 pages. ( can cut down a bit I think ) ( we only provided the letter from my husband’s aspect.|
|3. Sponsorship Undertaking Form (SU07)||Many people argued that this form is not necessary but I forgot where I read the reference with appropriate explanation soI still attached this form.|
|4. Letter from sponsor’s employer- dated 17 Ari 2019|
The must component in employer letter
|a. Originally, I put this in employment evidence, but the VSF staff explained to me “employment evidence” is the document from the applicant not the sponsor. |
b. The below is my employer letter structure (28 days rules)
|5. Sponsor’s letter with salary increase||a. Originally, I put this in financial evidence, but the VSF staff explained to me “financial evidence” is the document from the applicant not the sponsor.|
b. This document was another evidence to prove that my husband’s salary met the financial threshold.

This document was to show my husband’s salary, work start date, work location and monthly paid.

|a. My husband’s salary is being paid every 15 of the month so we provide bank statement from 16 Oct 2018-18 Aril 2019 ( full six months) (28 days rules)|
b. Firstly, we applied official bank statement via post ( no stamp required, but be aware that it takes time to send to you)
c. The last month bank statement was printed and stamped by bank branch.
d. I will highly suggest that you go to your bank about the time it takes and the possibility to stamp the document at bank branch. I saw some group members experienced trouble in this bit.

II. The most recent mortgage letter- Jan 2019
|a. The application date of Register of title is suggested within 3 months of your application(some said not necessarily, so you decide).|

c. The £3 Title register is sufficient.
|2. The most recent council tax statement- dated 6 Mar 2019||Prepare the most recent one|
|3. Utility bill (water) dated 14 Mar 2019||This is not compulsory|
|4. Information of the accommodation-floor plan, pictures, and description of the property.||I used powerpoint to present the detail of the accommodation. Examples as below,|

4. Consent Letters and Proof of Relationships
|1. Marriage certificate||We provided original and English version of our marriage certificate|
|2. Applicant’s household registration transcript||To show my home address, parents’ name, husband’s name|
|3. Evidence of related trip tickets, flight bookings, hotel reservation, and selection of photos to visit sponsor/applicant||We organized all these related documents by trips to spouse/applicant.|
|4. Communication history – Selection of written communication with LINE app||I exported our chat log and organized it in word document. One daily full random conversation a month throughout the relationship.|
|5. Communication history – Selection of call log||I screenshotted the call log and show one call log every week throughout the relationship. Example can be seen as below.The screenshot is to show my husband’s name, the date and call duration. My phone is Iphone, you can find this information in your call log.|
|6. Communication history – Selection of video chat screenshot with LINE app||I also screenshot when my husband and I were doing video chat. I put four screenshot in one page with word document and demonstrated 4 pages totally.|
|7. Selection of Facebook posts||I screenshot my husband and my interaction with each other on facebook thoughout the relationship. I put four screenshot in one page with word document and demonstrated 8 pages totally.|
|8. Pictures of various postcards, birthday cards and letters between sponsor and applicant||I scanned all the postcards, birthday cards and letters to each other and used powerpoint to present them. Example can be seen as below.|
5. Educational evidence

|I used my UK degree certificate to demonstrate my English ability.|
6. Additional documents / Others
|1. Applicant’s current passport photocopy with bio data page and all entry and exits stamps||Not only to prepare the photocopy of current passport, the visa centre will take it ( you can pay a fee to keep it with you with standard service; for priority service, you have to prepare that the passport won’t be with you at least 6 weeks.|
|2. Applicant’s two previous passports photocopy with bio data page and all entry and exits stamps||I also prepare my old passport photocopy.|
|3. Applicant’s National insurance number||I also submitted my NI number ( I had it when I was in UK because of my student visa)|
When I went to VSF Taipei, they asked for
- Print out of biometrics appointment confirmation
- Print out of UK Visas & Immigration Document checklist But they didn’t ask for
- Print out of visa application payment and priority payment
- Print out of Immigration Health Surcharge payment
As these two item has already shown on the online application form.
They didn’t ask for online application form either, but I still printed it out and keep it with me. Also emailed to my husband to familiar with content in case any ECO call ( but we didn’t received any call)
